Monthly Theme Day – Mar 2019 – Green

Here in the Top of the South, we can’t offer much “green”.

A few weeds, but they’re struggling too.

Despite 7mm on Sunday, there’s been no rain since Christmas Day, temperatures in the 30s and non-stop sou-westerlies.

Which means that everything’s as dry as a bone, leading to a massive forest fire a few weeks back that stopped 4km from our place.

No garden watering, no car washing, businesses have to cut consumption by 25% (bit of a problem for the Golden Bear brewery at Port Mapua…) and we’re exhorted to reduce consumption, too, by flushing less often

“If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down”

That’ll set me up for another 2 Monthly Theme Days….
