Aunt Margaret would be pleased.

Went to Chapel yesterday.

Nor exactly her kind of chapel (Grove Methodist in Horsforth), especially with all manner of alcoholic beverages on display and nary a crucifix to be seen.

It’s actually the old Mission to Seafarers church, dating back to the early 1800s, lovingly restored and now a cafe, serving up the most inept espresso-based drinks I’ve collided with in a while.

Flat white was a cappuccino with a blob of foam as latte art.

I rescued my short black (aka doppio/double espresso) from being adulterated with milk.

“I’m from England” she said “We have different names over there…”

The American guy who took the order thought I’d ordered a short mac.

Whatever that might be….
