Monthly Theme Day – March 2015 – Ageing

P1020047

Ungracefully.

Dave Dobbyn (l) and Don McGlashan (r) (onetime horn player with the NZ Symphony Orchestra) belong to a select group of iconic New Zealand musicians who are respected and loved by all.

Elder statesmen of the genre.

Both on the wrong side of 50, they headlined the 2015 Winery Tour which made a stop at Tim and Judy Finn’s exquisite Neudorf Vineyard (20 minutes from here) on Thursday and Friday and boy, can they still get the mosh pit going!

And sing delicate ballads.

And get everyone emotional with anthemic classics.

Like “Welcome Home” as a finale

“We’re from New Zealand – we do things back to front…”

There are some rockers on the other side of 60 or 70 doing much the same. It definitely works for some people!

If they can still draw the crowds I say good on them! Perfect for the theme 🙂
