Sarau Festival

D7K_6741Sod’s Law being what it is, the drought broke on Sunday, gifting us 14mm of much needed wet, but also drowning the Upper Moutere Sarau Festival (“Sarau” being the original name given to the region by German settlers in the 19th C)

Not that it it worried too many people, this being The Country.

Car park (a paddock generously annointed with sheep poo) was full within an hour, the Phillipino dancers danced, the Scottish pipe band piped and the Sarau Cream Teas were devoured with gusto.

And a Good Time was had by all.
