We may have Rich Listers living up the road, but one of their neighbours has sheep, another grows grapes and further up the road you’ll find cattle grazing.

So don’t tell me we’re not living in the country out here in Not Nelson.

Further proof is at any event playing anything approaching music.

3 chords (and that’s all some of them play…) and someone’s on their feet, dancing with whoever happens to be handy.

(This at the Golden Bear microbrewery on the wharf in Mapua.)

It even gets more extreme at an Eastern concert.

Some foolhardy souls chose to sit at tables close to the stage.

About 2 seconds into the first song, every square centimetre of free floor space was occupied and tables got stacked to make more room.

Some people even got to rescue their drinks…..
